HISTORY
Founded in 1967 by Richard Patchen and Denis Murphy, Carlile Patchen & Murphy has grown to 38 lawyers, 6 paralegals, and 25 staff people, all committed to delivering the highest caliber of legal advice and client service. The firm has enjoyed a long tenure on E. Broad Street, moving to its current location at the corner of Broad and Grant in 1985 in the building formerly home to the Ohio Insurance Company. The building was constructed in 1931, and underwent a year-long renovation before Carlile Patchen & Murphy occupied it in 1986. The integrity of the early 20th century style of architecture has been maintained, including the imposing brass gates, stairwell grates, stylish Art Deco fixtures, ornate ceiling, and cornices decorating the façade. To complement this style, a secondary entrance was added with the signature columns that have been stylized into the firm's logo.
